ABOUT LEE

A regular journal-keeper for nearly thirty years, Lee began writing creatively as a travel log exercise while studying abroad in Finland in the autumn of 1996.

Some sources of drive for Lee are his Virgo nature, his ethnic heritage, and his personal pursuit to test himself and find limits.  He finds travel and exploration invigorating---among both natural and built environments---and is especially excited by places where nature has reclaimed its dominance over man-made structures now in decay.

As an architect, Lee is drawn to artfulness, creativity, and beauty.  He seeks to uncover themes and systems at work in the world around us---capture zeitgeist---and attempts to bring rigor and intentionality into his writing and books.  His formal architectural education taught him to apply critical analysis and design thinking to all creative projects, not just buildings.  This is brought to bear in his publishing house, Peter Pacer Publications.

Lee believes architecture is a term of reverence, and there is an unattainable spirit, a je ne sais quoi, that transforms an ordinary building into architecture.  It is a mysteriously-acquired attribute that only a tiny percentage of buildings ever possess; it cannot be intentionally incorporated.  Architecture is an ideal to which one aspires and maybe someday, achieves.  Similarly, he does not presume what he writes qualifies as poetry; he will let others deem it so.  In the meantime, he endeavors to improve his craft every day.

Lee is a father to one daughter and lives in Jacksonville, Florida.
